Rain drops fall on Francois Hollande
Newly elected French President Francois Hollande's vision was partially obscured when his glasses were pelted by rain drops during a drive through the Champs Elysees in Paris on May 15, 2012. The presidential handover ceremony at the Elysee Palace on Tuesday released Nicolas Sarkozy from his duties as France's president and bequeathed them onto Hollande.

Excentrique(s) by Daniel Buren
French minimalist artist Daniel Buren's 'Excentrique(s)' has taken over the sprawling nave of the Grand Palais in Paris for the fifth annual Monumenta art project. Excentrique(s) is made of hundreds of colored circles in red, blue, green and yellow which are mounted on stalks which huddle through the central space of the Grand Palais like tinted lily pads waiting for their respective frogs to lumber through. "Daniel Buren, MONUMENTA 2012" is on exhibition starting on May 10 and runs until June 21, 2012.

Paris Marathon 2012
A glimpse of some of the 40,000 competitors who raced past the Eiffel Tower during the 36th annual Paris Marathon in Paris, France, on April 15, 2012. The marathon began at the Avenue des Champs-Elysées and finished down Avenue Foch in the XVIe arrondissement. Kenyan runner Stanley Biwott broke race records by completing the marathon in 2 hours, 5 minutes, and 11 seconds to take the men's title while Ethiopian runner Beyene Tirfi took the women's title with a time of 2 hours, 21 minutes at 40 seconds.

ONE’s AAA demonstration in Paris, France
The disembodied visages of French presidential candidates are plastered onto paper planters and held aloft by members of 'ONE,' a Non-governmental organization (NGO) during their 'AAA, Agriculture = Food = Future' demonstration in Paris, France. ONE hopes to bring attention to hunger, preventable diseases, and poverty by calling upon governments to increase funding for agricultural programs in order to combat the inequalities around the world.

Tango at the European Challenge Cup quarterfinals
