Dinosaurs arrive at Bristol Zoo Gardens

Workers at Bristol Zoo Gardens in Bristol, England, unpacked and moved twelve animatronic dinosaurs including a Baryonyx, Tyrannosaurus Rex, and a Triceratops into place after the shipment arrived from Texas. The dinosaurs will be installed in the zoo's upcoming 'DinoZoo' exhibition which opens on May 25, 2012 and runs until September 2, 2012.

Director of the Bristol Zoo, Dr. Bryan Carroll said, “We are always looking for new and exciting ways to entertain, inspire and educate our guests, and this year is no exception. DinoZoo is sure to be a fantastically popular new attraction that will take our guests on a journey that started over 200 million years ago. We are really looking forward to unveiling these giant creatures on May 25. It also presents a great opportunity to tell our guests about the very real extinction threat facing many species in the Zoo and around the world.”Photo credit: Matt Cardy / Getty Images

Still Being exhibition by Antony Gormely

A group of 31 life-size statues mounted at the edges of buildings in downtown Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Brasilia, got pulses racing this week as pedestrians below mistook the sculptures for suicide attempts. The statues are part of British artist Antony Gormely's 'Still Being' exhibition which opens officially tomorrow but the sight of the figures prompted phone calls to the police this week. One Brazilian newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo called them 'suicide statues' in a headline. Seems the Brazilian readership agrees.Photo credit: Andre Penner / AP
