The George Washington Chicken McNugget
A chunk of breaded chicken from the fryers of a McDonald's eatery went up on auction on February 20, 2012 for the starting bid of US$100. The Chicken McNugget was originally purchased as part of a "99 cent McNugget Tuesday" sale and apparently bears the likeness of founding father George Washington. The owner of the McNugget, Rebekah Speights of Dakota City, Nebraska says:
"This “President George Washington Chicken McNugget” became a show and tell item for friends and family who came to visit, and all have responded with awe and laughter over this remarkable find. We have shared many laughs over this “President George Washington Chicken McNugget”, but now he has been called to a higher purpose.
The students of Family Worship Center in Sioux City, Iowa are in the process of trying to raise $15,000 for Church Camp this summer. My husband and I felt led to auction this “President George Washington Chicken McNugget” as part of our fundraising effort. 100% of the money raised will go to Family Worship Center in Sioux City, Iowa."
As of 06:01PM EST, the Ebay listing for the McNugget has attracted 20 bids with the current price at US$351.
