Re-vamped version of the Horn Hairstyle!
Animal Hair by Nagi Noda
Japanese artist Nagi Noda used wire meshes to create animals out of thick heads of hair which she called 'hair hats.' By tucking and teasing strands of hair into shapes, she was able to style dogs, rabbits, elephants, and other animals into women's hair. Noda passed away at age 35 in 2008 due to complications in surgery after a 2007 car accident.
Top 5 Uses for Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is versatile treatment for many ailments and health
conditions but here are my top five uses for ACV which I have tested myself.
1. Hair and scalp health
Did you know that our hair is mostly acidic? A normal pH range is 4.5 to 5.5, but most shampoos have a pH of at least 6.5, making them more alkaline. By using too many alkaline products for long periods of time, it can break down your hair and skin's natural protective layers, leaving it vulnerable to damage. Try using a rinse consisting of 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar diluted with 2 cups of water. This will soothe your scalp, remove build-up, and balance the pH. It will also make your hair super shiny!
2. Bruises
Apple cider vinegar is an excellent anti-inflammatory. It will reduce swelling and redness by shrinking capillaries and providing nourishment to the affected area. If you have a nasty bruise, try an apple cider vinegar pack. All you have to do it pour a small amount of pure, undiluted ACV on a wash cloth and apply it to the bruise. You will notice a difference within an hour and the bruise will normally disappear within 1-2 days.
3. Digestion
The leading cause of acid reflux is actually caused by not having enough stomach acid to properly digest your food. Try drinking 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water before your meals to help break down food particles and promote healthy gut flora.
4. Sore throats
With the winter months headed our way, we're more susceptible to the flu and colds going around. At the first sign of a sore throat, try gargling 1 tsp of apple cider vinegar in 1/2 cup of warm water. This will help draw out toxins and bacteria, as well as soothe your throat with nutrients and reduce pain and swelling.
5. Acne
Apple cider is wonderful for acne. It provides nutrients for your skin while drawing out toxins, reducing inflammation, redness, and killing bacteria. Try mixing a couple tablespoons with 1 cup of water and applying it to your face with a cotton ball. If you have body acne, try using a spray bottle or applying it with a washcloth in the shower.
Garnier Triple Nutrition shampoo and conditioner
I've always been one of those people who preferred salon products over the house brands sold at the supermarket and drugstore. I thought they worked better and were also better for the health of my scalp and hair which made them worth the extra cost. I won't name names, but a popular salon brand left my scalp feeling greasy and flaky with dry strands after a few days of using it. I was pretty frustrated because I spent a pretty penny on two large bottles of shampoo and conditioner, and they didn't even work.
The last time I was at my local supermarket about a week ago, I decided to turn a new leaf and try a drugstore brand. I decided on the Garnier Triple Nutrition shampoo and conditioner. Just the name caught me, Triple Nutrition - my hair was desperately in need of nourishment. After just one use, my hair felt clean but soft and shiny. My hair felt flowy, light, and I could actually run my fingers through my hair again! I can't get enough of this stuff, it truly is a great bargain and works well on my thick head of hair.
